Have you ever gone through times where you have felt inner loneliness or just a void in your heart? I have felt this way many times, and I would like to tell you my secret to stop feeling that way. One time I was feeling this loneliness and decided I needed to just get alone with God. During my time alone with Him, I felt Him telling me the reason why I was feeling alone was because He wanted me to spend time with him. He knew I needed that time spent with Him. He wanted me to put away my phone and walk away from other things that may distract me from being able to just sit and listen to Him. And I did just that. With my obedience and spending time alone with Him, He took away that loneliness and that void and filled it with His presence and peace. He comes in with His presence and takes away loneliness. What is surrender? Surrender in Greek, 'paraddidomi', means to give in the hands of another; to give over into one's power or use, to commit or commend, to permit or allow. Surrendering to God is just that. To put our whole life in His hands and to trust Him completely with it. It is to trust God with our future, our past, our finances, and everything else we need/desire. It is to give up everything and be willing to serve Him wholeheartedly. It is to allow Him to use us completely by Him, not trying to fulfill our own fleshly desires, but offer up our life in surrender to what He has for us. Without surrender we will never fully be able to live for God and do what He desires for each of us. "If you are willing to live for Christ, you must first surrender."
